Borderless Asia began by documenting the return of Western-born Asians to their ancestral homelands, showcasing their contributions as they forged new paths, reconnected with their cultural heritage, and leveraged their bicultural upbringings to build thriving careers and businesses. It has since evolved to amplify underrepresented voices and narratives from Asia, fostering a deeper understanding of this vital and rapidly growing region through diverse perspectives and cross-cultural stories.Borderless Asia's stories have resonated with over 35 million viewers on social media, building a global audience of more than 150,000 followers.
The Western media... saturated our TV, radio and the print media.American cartoons, documentaries, and CNN bring the outside world into our sitting rooms, and American voices interpret the meaning of these events to Asians using American terms of reference. As East Asia develops, and its people master the media, Asian cartoons, documentaries and commentators will interpret these same world events to us and the world, as seen from an Asian perspective. As East Asia develops there will be re-affirmation of Asian culture, Asian tradition and Asian values.— Lee Kuan Yew, 1995
